The And Ensemble

The And Ensemble are a band from York st John Univerisity. We are Joe Collins (right), Abby Hall (left) and Angus Williams (last).

We don't perform live much as a band (although Joe, Abby and Angus perform lots as artists in their own right). We focus mostly on studio recording, music videos and pretending to rehearse - Rob Wilsmore  [Ensemble Director]

The And Ensemble are Music students and staff at York St John University. We took our line of flight from philosophical papers on 'The Song of a Thousand Songs'  which moved from idea to a reality as the group connect to the multiplicity that is this one great unending pop song that we all contribute to. There are no songs other than 'The Song of a Thousand Songs', we all just contribute to this one magnum opus. Every song is just another avenue of this piece and we're all one big band. Isn't that lovely.
